Friday, Dec. 7

12:30-2 p.m. — A free English Conversation Class meets at the Platt Branch Library, 23600 Victory Blvd. in West Hills/Woodland Hills.

 

2-6 p.m. — Linda Arsenault hosts an Artisan Craft Show at 23304 Cohasset St. in West Hills. Details: (818) 264-9862.

 

7 p.m. — Carter Ace Slip performs in a single release show at the Guitar Merchant, 22805 Saticoy St., at Fallbrook Avenue, in West Hills.

 

7 p.m. — A Band and Holiday Choir Concert is scheduled in Chaminade’s Tutor Family Performing Arts Center in West Hills.

 

7:30 p.m. — The Drama Department at El Camino Real Charter High School presents Almost Maine by John Cariani in the Grieb Theater. Tickets: $15 at the door.

 

7:30 p.m. — The Banzerini House presents William Gibson’s play, “The Miracle Worker,” at the Madrid Theatre, 22162 Sherman Way in Canoga Park. Snacks and drinks provided by Scout Troop 474.

 

8 p.m. — An evening of six comedic one-acts by Christopher Durang comes to the stage in “Durang/Durang” at Pierce College’s Performing Arts Mainstage, 6201 Winnetka Ave. in Woodland Hills. Details: (818) 719-6488.

 

8-11 p.m. — Friday is Jam Night at Lenny’s Smokehouse, 23360 Lake Manor Drive in Chatsworth Lake Manor.

 

Saturday, Dec. 8

8:30 a.m. — An intermediate yoga group meets at Shepherd of the Valley Lutheran Church at 23838 Kittridge St. in West Hills. Donations accepted.

 

9 a.m.-2 p.m. — The Sky Valley Volunteers plant 50 oak seedlings to restore a devastated oak grove in Sage Ranch Park at the top of Woolsey Canyon. For details, email jcluker2@yahoo.com or ssmpawendi@gmail.com.

 

10 a.m.-3 p.m. — The first West Valley Children’s Business Fair, offering products made and sold by kids, takes place at Acton Academy, 22700 Sherman Way in West Hills. Photos with Santa begin at 1 p.m.

 

11 a.m.-3 p.m. — Linda Arsenault hosts an Artisan Craft Show at 23304 Cohasset St. in West Hills. Details: (818) 264-9862.

 

1-3 p.m. — Cub Pack and Troop 474 present Photos With Santa at First United Methodist Church, 22700 Sherman Way in West Hills. One free digital image is provided for a suggested $5 donation.
